Aly - Founder/Head Dog Trainer
My journey with dogs started long before I ever held a leash professionally. As a kid, I grew up dreaming of becoming a veterinarian or finding any path that would allow me to work closely with animals. That dream started to take shape in a very real way when I adopted a reactive and aggressive dog who challenged me in ways I never expected—and ultimately led me to discover my passion for dog training, specifically behavior modification.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began learning everything I could about canine behavior and training by watching YouTube videos, viewing online seminars, and reaching out to a professional for help with my own dog. What started as a personal mission to help my personal dog live a more fulfilling life quickly turned into a career. My first step into the dog training world was working as a kennel tech at a local dog training facility and worked my way up to Lead Dog Trainer and Supervisor, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds and behavioral challenges—from basic obedience to incredibly complex reactivity and aggression cases. I spent two years working there, immersing myself in every aspect of the dog training business. From the hands-on work of training dogs with a wide variety of behaviors and temperaments, to learning the fundamentals of animal husbandry, I gained a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to build a successful training program. I also had the opportunity to dive into the behind-the-scenes operations, including administrative tasks, client communication, and scheduling. This well-rounded experience gave me a deep appreciation for the balance of both the practical and logistical sides of the business, and it strengthened my ability to work closely with clients to ensure the best outcomes for both dogs and their families.
As my experience grew, so did my passion for truly understanding the "why" behind each behavior. I’ve continued my education by attending seminars and conferences, completing masterclasses, taking online courses, and learning from leading professionals in the field. I’ve also had the privilege of shadowing several experienced trainers before (and since) creating RTP, which has deeply influenced my approach and broadened my toolbox.
Today, I specialize in in-home training and behavior modification, helping dogs and their families create lasting change right where it matters most. My approach is rooted in trust, communication, and compassion—because I believe every dog deserves a chance to succeed, and every family deserves support in making that happen.
When I’m not training, you can usually find me country dancing or enjoying anything outdoors (usually with the dogs, of course). Dog training is more than a job to me—it’s a calling, and I’m here to help both ends of the leash build a stronger, more balanced and fulfilling life together.
Ellie - Dog Trainer
My journey into the dog world began with my pup, Lenny. After just two months of having him, I quickly realized we were in over our heads with his behavioral issues. I knew I needed guidance, so I reached out to Aly and signed Lenny up for a 6-week Behavior Modification Board and Train program—and that decision changed everything. What I expected to be a simple training experience turned into something much bigger.
Watching Lenny’s transformation not only deepened our bond, but also sparked a passion in me for understanding dogs on a whole new level. It opened my eyes to the power of clear communication, structure, and compassionate training—and I knew I wanted to be a part of that world.
I’ve now been working in this field for over a year, and it’s been the most rewarding and inspiring experience. I’m continuing to learn every day through hands-on work, the guidance of Aly, and ongoing education through seminars, courses, and online communities. I'm incredibly excited to keep growing and helping more dogs and their families be successful in this world.
Outside of dog training, I love spending time with my fiancé, our cat, and of course, Lenny. I also enjoy getting outdoors, relaxing with my family, and soaking up every moment I can with the people (and animals) I love most.
